Busy Weekend

Friday night we went to a wedding reception of a sweet girl who grew up a few houses down the street. It's so fun to go to these gatherings and see dear friends and those whom you haven't crossed paths with for a long time. It was such a happy occasion. John and I are so lucky to have lived in this great neighborhood for 20 years now. We have seen lots of births, weddings and funerals and feel our lives are intertwined with those around us.

Saturday was going great until John wrenched his back somehow and has been in pain all day. He has been keeping close company with the Ibuprofen bottle and the heating pads since. We were able to take a foray to West Valley where our son Mitch and two of our grandsons were sharing a three-in-one birthday celebration. There was a Mario Brothers theme and the cake was awesome!
Fisher turned 11 and Chason turned 6. What cute boys they are and we love them so much! We won't say how old Mitch turned - but he is still a cute boy! What a great papa and hubby he is. Happy Birthday to the Rogers Boys! Sister Bailey's BD is in July.

Later in the evening I dropped into a Surprise Birthday party/open house for my friend and neighbor Lori. She turned 50, and her husband Guy and children did a bang-up job pulling off a surprise! Lori has been a Donny Osmond fan since she met him at a Youth Conference when she was ... a youth! There was a great crowd, great food and great music! Guy set up a karaoke machine and Lori, along with family and friends, were singing all the oldies, especially the Donny songs - Lori knows them all! Happy Birthday to a great lady, mom, wife, sister and friend!
Lori and Donny... a fun Photoshop trick!

Lori will be jealous 'cause I get to go see Donny in a couple of weeks. Fun to see you blogging again. I love the pics. Love you and miss you. See you soon.

We are sorry we missed both of your fun neighborhood activities while we have been in Hawaii. It would have been fun to go with you two.
